THE GOOD FOOD & WINE COMPANY

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The Good Food and Wine Company brand was co founded by husband and wife team Nicholas Lestas and Michelle Lestas. As Foodies, our passion is award winning artisan food.

WHY OUR PRODUCTS ARE DIFFERENT FROM OTHER HAMPER AND GIFT COMPANIES?

Our products are artisan

An artisan product is one that is made by a small business or producer using a small batch production system, rather than a factory style mass production. The Good Food and Wine Company seeks to work with small local producers who work as close to the source of raw materials as possible.

Our products are made in the UK and Ireland as much as possible

The Good Food and Wine Company seeks, where possible, to buy from local UK and Irish producers and this is the case in approximately 80% of our products. However, some raw materials such as tea/coffee, some herbs/spices and wines have to be brought in from the countries of origin. In these case’s the raw materials are blended, roasted, and packaged in the UK and Ireland by local artisans to traditional recipes and we buy from these local small businesses. An exception to this is our international cooking range where we work with local artisans and small batch producers in their country to bring you authentic International cuisine.

DELIVERY PROCESS

What do delivery costs include?

Delivery Costs are not just about transportation. Our delivery cost are heavily subsidised by us in order to remain competitive. We know you want your gifts to reach their destination in the best possible condition and that they are reflective of you. As such each hamper and gift box must be prepared, by hand, for transport to keep it as safe as possible during its journey. This includes all packaging, bubble wrapping and outer boxes and envelopes. In addition, our delivery costs include the preparation and inclusion of any personal messages you wish to include, as well as the actual despatch and delivery of your parcel.

How long will delivery take?

As soon as we receive your order we begin to process it. We notify you we have received it and identify any changes required due to stock differences. If there are no specialist requirements or stock alterations the products are packed within that working day if the order is received before 12 noon or by the following working day if the order is received after 12 noon. Your Hamper is then despatched within the same working day.

FOR SMALL PACKAGES

For Small Packages under 2 kilo we use standard Royal Mail delivery as we find this to be the most efficient, safe and cost effective.

FOR NORTHERN IRELAND DELIVERY

For our Northern Ireland deliveries we work with local small courier companies who employ local people to deliver your products. We do this to support local employment and because we have built up a strong relationship with these local businesses who go out of their way to provide a fantastic service and have a strong knowledge of their routes and roads. Delivery across Northern Ireland is usually within 3 to 5 working days. Occasionally and due to unforeseen circumstances like COVID-19 it might be longer, but we are usually notified and we will then notify you.

UK/IRELAND AND NATIONAL DELIVERIES

For UK Mainland, Ireland and International deliveries we use the well known international courier services. As soon as your hamper is ready its logged online and we are given a tracking number which we can pass straight onto you by email. You can then track the progress of your hamper in real time to its destination. In each case tracking your Parcel will tell you of the route, where the parcel is at any given time and date of delivery.
